Spearhead Announce Book of The Kings Pokie
Lara Jones was never Spearhead Studio’s most original creation, being a rather shameless rip off of Lara Croft and Indiana Jones. But regardless of the silly imitation character, the pokies Lara Jones starred in were still good fun. Good news for those who enjoyed her; she will be in another pokie adventure, this one called Book of The Kings. The game is slated for a 2020 fall release, though no specific date has been provided so far.
But, Spearhead Studios have provided a rather detailed look at the game in advance, providing those who are keen on joining Miss Jones a few reasons to get excited.
First and foremost, Book of The Kings will feature 5 reels, 3 rows, and be high volatility. It follows the adventurer as she searches dusty tombs for treasure, using the fabled Book of The Kings as a guide. If she finds the treasure or not will, of course, depend on how lucky the player is.
Graphical Ground Breaker
According to the developer, one of the goals of Book of The Kings was to break new ground in terms of pokies graphics. This can’t be confirmed or denied just yet, given that there is no footage available. But what can be gleaned from the screenshots is that the game does indeed have pretty good graphics.
As would be expected, the pokie is set in an ancient tomb. The grid is flanked on either side by flickering torches, and impressive shadows are cast across intensely detailed stone surfaces. Lara herself appears on the reels, looking as daring and vibrant as ever. Joining her is a pharaoh of old, the now commonly seen Anubis, as well as a handful of valuable artefacts.
But what about the actual gameplay?
The Book Guides The Way
According to a spokesperson at Spearhead Studios, The Book acts as the pokie’s big payout trigger. Not only does The Book act as a Wild, but it can also trigger 10 Free Spins. So far, so predictable.
What is less predictable is the innovative Gamble Ladder feature. According to the spokesperson, the developers inserted Gamble Ladder to give players the option to enter their pokie winnings into the ladder, which in turn has the potential to drastically compound the cash. Using this system, winnings can be increased up to a maximum of a staggering €30,000.
Lara Jones may be getting a little long in the tooth as far as characters go, but there is nothing old hat about her latest pokie. Enthusiasts will be keen on trying out Book of The Kings on desktop and mobile when it goes live a little later in the year.
